- Lutri, the Spellchaser unbanned, with a new designation: banned as a companion only. It is not a Game Changer.
- Unbans for Sundering Titan, Iona, Shield of Emeria, and Griselbrand were discussed and declined; all three remain banned.
- The proposed hybrid-mana color identity change was shelved after community feedback split roughly down the middle.
- No structural bracket changes; Wizards committed to a slower rate of change in 2026.

Major revision: turn expectations, tutor limits removed, 10 cards off the list
- Brackets redefined around turn-count expectations: games satisfying at turn 9+ (Bracket 1), 8+ (2), 6+ (3), 4+ (4), any turn (5).
- All tutor restrictions removed from Brackets 1–3.
- Bracket 2 decoupled from the "average precon" comparison; Bracket 1 re-centered on theme and creativity.
- Game Changers philosophy revised: the list is for cards that "easily and dramatically warp Commander games," not merely strong cards.
- Ten cards removed from the Game Changers list: Expropriate, Jin-Gitaxias Core Augur, Sway of the Stars, Vorinclex Voice of Hunger, Kinnan, Urza Lord High Artificer, Winota, Yuriko, Deflecting Swat, and Food Chain.
- Community feedback solicited on Rhystic Study, Thassa’s Oracle, and possible additional brackets.
-
First beta update: 5 unbans, 18 cards added to Game Changers
- Five cards unbanned directly onto the Game Changers list: Braids Cabal Minion, Coalition Victory, Gifts Ungiven, Panoptic Mirror, and Sway of the Stars.
- Eighteen cards added to the Game Changers list, including Teferi’s Protection, Humility, Consecrated Sphinx, Necropotence, and Orcish Bowmasters.
- Two cards removed: Trouble in Pairs and Trinisphere.
- Philosophy clarified: intent matters most, and players should honestly "bracket up" if a deck plays stronger than its card list suggests.
-
Commander Brackets (Beta) introduced
- The five-bracket system announced: Exhibition, Core, Upgraded, Optimized, and cEDH.
- The original Game Changers list debuted with roughly 40 cards.
- Per-bracket guidelines set for Game Changers, mass land denial, extra turns, two-card combos, and (at the time) tutors.
